cerhob.. yep I'm guilty of some of the silly stuff, as are we all I suspect. Everyone has crazy idea's occasionally and this is the place to bounce them around. The moderators do a much better job at keeping us in line while we do it imo and everyone learns something in the process.
Referring to your noise analogy, some of the traders on here trade at a pace that makes them the noise (me included again), but they make good money from "being the noise".
