if I understand correctly, lithium metal process is as follow:
1) brine to lithium carbonate to lithium chloride to lithium metal (3 processes)
2) brine to lithium chloride to lithium metal (2 processes)
3) hard rock to spodumene to lithium carbonate to lithium chloride to lithium metal (4 processes)
therefore, brine is cheapest in lithium metal production.
