Howard went to the 1999 election stating he would introduce a GST if re-elected. He was re-elected and introduced the GST even though Labor opposed it after losing the GST referendum (1999 election).
By going to the election and stating he would introduce the GST he was honest and open in his recinding of the earlier never ever.
I have no problem with any politician doing that lib or lab.
What is your problem with the above?
