Macquarie (MQG) are fairly adept strategists when it comes to buying cheap along with abundant patience in putting a deal together. Shemara Wikramanayake has certainly quite a bit of experience in that area since joining the 'millionaires factory' over 30 years ago. It will be interesting if to see if any other possible suitors are waiting in the wings. Probably some good Synergies there that could be 'married up' with the acquisition of a smaller banking organisation post Royal commission where compliance costs may be an issue on current bottom line revenue.
