If these people knew our history and the story of the actual landing they would know that Australia Day is not divisive. None of them know the facts, they are terribly ignorant. Captain Phillip was one of the most progressive statesmen of his age back when progressives actually fought for classic liberal principles. He held strong egalitarian principles including equal rights for both convict and jailer and the prohibition of any form of slavery in this new colony such as that which existed in other parts of the world like the USA. He did not engage the native Eora tribe in war but actively sought a policy of peaceful cooperative development of the area including not punishing an Eora tribesman that speared him in the leg in order to keep the peace. He struck up an enduring friendship with Woollarawarre Bennelong who was forcefully brought into the new colony to become an interpreter between the British and the Eora. Bennelong was honored by Phillip and granted a homestead on "Bennelong point" where the Sydney Opera House now stands. The fact is January 26, 1788 is the date that the British and Aboriginal people started a shared journey together and while we have had some massacres of both white settler families and native tribes in our past, our shared story has been good for both native and non-indigenous Australians and the only thing keeping some Aboriginal people down in our modern society is their own poor actions and their own self destructive victim mentalities. Australians are becoming more ignorant of our history and exactly what happened at Botany Bay and are thus more easily led into this destructive narrative whose sole purpose is to undermine our own love of this beautiful country. The left are leading the Aboriginal people into believing they had no part in making this country and were mere victims, this is simply not true. We all built this country together, Australia day is about our shared journey and is an inclusive day. The divisive ones are those feeding racial animosity and undermining the social order of our beautiful country. I engage these racist leftists all the time on the topic of "invasion day", none of them survive the facts and get humiliated when presented with them. I would encourage all patriotic Australians to learn about Captain Arthur Phillip and Woollarawarre Bennelong and arm yourself with the facts and don't let these divisive people attribute every crime that has occurred on this continent for the last 200 years to Captain Arthur Phillip and the landing at Botany Bay. To allow them to do this is to allow them to undermine the entire foundation of our county and its very legitimacy.

RB On the ABC mix program we had an aboriginal professor from UTS telling the set ups why aboriginal children should be taught separately from white children. So divisive with the black- white thing she should have been ashamed of herself . A very twisted woman. Aboriginal children would have to be thankful to be in their birth home as the figures on living in them is so dangerous. Up in Katherine not so long ago we had an article from a aboriginal couple with 40 kids in their crowded house ......the reason .....to dangerous in their own home. Every thing the left relate on Aboriginal Affairs is the complete opposite of the truth.
