I love how a whole bunch of non-holders are popping up on the BHP threads hoping to offer us strategic long term investors advice on why we shouldn't buy BHP or RIO.....*slaps forehead*

So just to help these guys out:

Capital Gain (so far): 100% +.....I bought around $15 at the bottom of the cycle, bit of luck,  bit of understanding commodities cycles. Capital gain I'm up over 100% since Jan 2016.

Dividends: 42.5% + including the special divi and Marchs dividend.

Whilst I don't think the returns over the next 3 year cycle will be as large as the last three years i do think it's entirely likely I'll get a further 50% capital gain (around 45-50 dollars a share by 2022) and another 20-30% gain from dividends. Slow and steady wins the race as it always has. Compounding is king
