With all due respect. In hindsight would you allow your children to do the same today…The police back in those days were both Brutes and Gentlemen. The Noise was the concern back in those days as my younger brother accelerated sharply out of a service station squealing the tyres and was pulled over just up the road. Although there were idiots…the majority were respectful….You also knew you would cop a whack from the police and then a second whack from Mum and or Dad when you got home.
