Agreed.
Even with the resources many of these firms have at their disposal, there is still no substitute for spending the time doing your own research and backing your own judgement.
Two of my three biggest wins ironically have been stocks that GS have called a SELL on those stocks (FMG and Centro Retail). I have never been influenced by an analyst recommendation nor will I ever be.
