Spas, Putin has a weapon in his locker that dwarfs all others. The archives of the KGB/GRU. Putin could destroy the social and political fabric of the West at any time of his choosing but, IMHO Putin is aiming for a rapprochement with the West. IMHO Putin has already approached Trump with a deal and that is what the Mueller thing is all about.
The Russians were smart enough to cut away all the Muslim 'Stans thirty years ago. In other words the Russians had the foresight that the Western leaders as a group apparently don't have. Prior to 1990 the USSR found willing saboteurs and agents provocateurs among the crypto Rainbows of the West. These Rainbows were quite willing to overlook all the atrocities committed by the USSR for the lunatic idea that the spread of Communism would benefit them.
Putin has realized that there is nothing in it for Russia to be in a cold war with the West. Russia's long term foe is now China. Russia and the West need each other if they are to have any chance of containing China so a
rapprochement is needed, and fast. It is clear that Western Rainbows have switched allegiance over the last thirty years from the USSR to China. I think that Putin would be well aware that Rainbows in the West are now the enemy of Russia, but he can take them out with the KGB/GRU archives and recent FSA/GRU intel.
How stupid are many of the politicians in the West not to realize that Putin would have bulky files on all of them and could probably take out any one of them by divulging the intel that the FSA/GRU have certainly collected on them?
But Putin would not want to completely destroy the social/political fabric of the West so he will just remove the roadblocks to a rapprochement with the West.
Hillary and her supporters are just one obvious road block. Look what what happened to Huma Abedin's husband. That was a taste of things to come.
