POLISHED DIAMOND INDEX CONTINUES TO RISE

On Monday, January 28, the overall polishedprices index stood at 121.1 points – up 0.4% compared to the previous Monday. One week later, on Monday February 4, the overall polishedprices index stood at 121.6 points – up 0.4% week-over-week. The overall index is 3.2% above its level of this time last year, and has gained 1.6% since the start of the year.
According to polishedprices, all of the 1.0 carat ranges were in positive territory; the strongest of these was the Mixed range, which gained 1.4% compared to the previous Monday. The weakest category came from the Fine 0.5 carat range, which slipped 1.3% over the week.
