Nimbinboy - I do think my daughter's cancer has something to do with Chernobyl - spoke with some Austrian visitors this week and they reckon it still isn't safe to pick and eat mushrooms because they are still contaminated. I know they sell them, I know the Italians go into the Alps, pick them and much of it ends up as export dried mushrooms. I do use them from time to time, but always have my doubts. In England I made similar observations, in fact a young relatives of her husband had cancer as a small child, just when Chernobyl happened. She is cured and eats mostly vegetarian.
Thankyou for the juice advice - yes, my daughter is using a lot of juices, probably would no longer be with us, had she not done so from the word 'go' - but the NHS messed her up something chronic - now the doctor who is head of the department tells her she is too late for one of the drugs on the NHS system (cost-free) but she can get it for her for £3000 privately for a month's supply.
I haven't given up on her because she is a fighter and doer - but possibly too much so. I am counselling her to relax and to become that wonderfully calm child she once was. But do children ever listen to their parents?
I, too mentioned to her that here in Australia Cannabis was being looked into as an ameliorating drug when pain became too much - actually I talked to her husband about it - they know and would know how to get it.
Re Cannabis: I personally cannot stand the smell of the stuff - it's worse than tobacco, but you all say it's less harmful than tobacco. I did know a long-term user at one stage (he was a friend of one of my daughters) and he had lost all ability to make certain connections when trying to make an argument, equally I worked for a Parliamentary 'Advisor' who had a similar problem and my trouble with her was that she had to write reports, but was never able to make logical connections or even conclusions - lacked the words etc. - it was always my job to do that - I was mystified, didn't know why she had that inability - one day she came into work happily and announced she'd found this pouch on Scarborough Beach and showed it off - it was cannabis - and asked what she would do with it, she said 'use it, of course' - I then knew.
Anything done to excess is harmful - but our species, and particularly our present culture is into excess, unfortunately. Taurisk
