The JV currently holds 7136.9 sq.kms. Cairn haven't shown any sense of urgency with the Rufisque Block since the 3Dseis was shot in 2015. That block sits in shallow waters, so in my view some sub-blocks in that permit should b dropped unless they r happy to pay the annual rent. I dont know the water depth where they plan to anchor the FPSO, so could b a bit of a strategic ploy rather then let go all at once. They can keep the FANs if they want to.
TOTAL now has their old acreage to the west of FAN whilst Djiffre was originally with Hunt when they picked up 14981 sq.kms acreage in Senegal. Wonder if the President will enforce the 'use-it or lose-it' policy for Rufisque, atleast some other Operator could have a crack at Rufisque Dome area.
