The above table I tracked down is dated (Published March 2017 - https://www.ashurst.com/en/news-and-insights/legal-updates/quickguide---class-actions-in-australia/) but there's nothing overly scary from an current shareholder perspective in the figures above that make me think that this is going to be anywhere near as costly as the advice remediation (which could potentially increase as they pick there way through things). I think there was another large one since March 2017 that was 10,000 applicants seeking damages from SP Ausnet for the Black Saturday bushfires and they were awarded $500m but in this instance 119 people died and 125,000 Ha of land and 1,000+ homes were destroyed....
Like I said the 'lucky litigators' will already be eyeing off something nice on the beach....
