Further to ur post Sentia717, you CAN sell once the stock goes ex and still get the enetitlement, even if you stock is sold and settled before record date.
HINT: Just IGNORE THE RECORD DATE ALTOGETHER and treat the EX DATE as the priority (date).
ON EX DATE and there after, entitlements are no longer applied to trades!!
