The Adelaide to Darwin rail is up for sale .I dont know what ramifications it could have for the Wingellina project ,but any operators that take it on will certainly be encouraging new freight to use the line .Wingellina is around 400k from the rail line ,and would be the obvious choice for transport to port .
Territory Resources Michael Kiernan has showd interest in acquiring freight carriages as part of a consortium to buy the railway .Other possibilities include the Government running it .Oxiana are also considering sending concentrate through this 2000 km route from South Australia to Darwin .
