Because the speed achieved in the announcement was based on just linking 2 MCP cores together. If you can link 2, you can link 10, 50, 100. I personally have no doubt 1000kg is achievable, and will be just the starting line of what the technology can achieve. Also, from the cost graph it already looks like we've beaten traditional manufacturing in production speed, and just printing 5 impellers will pay back the cost of the machine.
