I always thought choosing a CEO with no real mining experience was a poor choice, but the market liked him initially - probably because he was a good BS_er and timing of the gold market turnaround.  I think he was given significant grace under the cloud of innovation, but all the smoke and mirrors are gone now, and the market has rated accordingly.

As you quite rightly point out, the real value in this story is the asset and the people who built it originally. Unfortunately, from what I've heard in  many of those key contributors have moved on. Whilst losing a fair deal of faith in the current executive, believe the project will win out and save their proverbal bacon. Very apt in this; The Year of the Big.  We have had to be very patient shareholders.
