I still think they will but I'm just not confident that they're going to take this deal at this stage. Mostly because of the wording in the Jan 2nd announcement:

"SK Innovation’s ability to acquire an equity stake in Australian Mines remains very much alive and will remain so until at least 20 February 2019." (My emphasis)

They've clearly left the door open for some kind of deal after Feb 20th and since there's no actual options to expire anymore the 20th Feb is really just a notional expiry date for the deal and there's absolutely nothing stopping both parties crafting a new deal after it passes.

I'd love to be wrong of course but experience has taught me to be realistic in cases like these then be happily surprised if things go well.
