Would you mind providing me with a link to Japan's recent humanitarian crisis? I haven't found any article detailing mistreatment of refugees. Infact, all I can find is their new policy to encourage more immigration, due to their rapidly aging population.
Im also not sure why you're comparing Australia to South Korea. A country which has been at war for over 50 years. A war for which, they have had to enact a draft system. We, Australia, don't need a draft system as we are not in constant danger of being wiped out. We also don't have a nearby neighbour building Nuclear Weapons, with the intent to potentially use them on us. I'm sure I don't have to walk you through their logic?
However, even then, they don't mistreat non-north Korean refugees the way we do. I'm happy to be corrected.
Poland is being Sued by the EU for non compliance on the matter, however they haven't treated refugees as we have, so I'm not quite sure what you mean.
China itself suffers for its crimes against humanity. Google and Facebook are just two companies that do not operate in China due to their various policies. There are many issues with China, so I would not bring them up in this debate.
I would encourage you to look at Germany. They receive one of the highest number of immigrants in the world and remain the 4th largest economy in the world. They are considered the strongest in Europe.
What you're suggesting isn't a change in Australian laws, it's the breaking of international agreements. However, I'm certain this means nothing to you, as you don't seem value the reputation of your country (and as an extention, your own) or understand the importance of keeping your commitments.
Goodluck.
