Depends on who the investor is and what the relationship is with the Board.
Its the Board's responsibility to chase defaulting investors however they are not obliged to do so.
The classic as AJ Lucas when Alan Campbell underwrote a large placement and then defaulted (Alan was the Managing Director at the time).  The Board wasn't going to chase their own MD.
