Robots on the rise: BidEnergy Alan Kohler February 6, 2019 CEO Interviews: Today’sinterview is with Bid Energy CEO Guy Maine, and Chairman James Baillieu.

    Extracts from that interview:

James Baillieu from recent interview: “peopleasked me why have you been so successful as Chairman of Bid Energy and I saybecause I made two great hires. That washiring Anthony Du Preez back into the business. He’s essential to the businessas the technology brains and hiring Guy. Those two hires really, those two people take 90% of the credit for theperformance and I and other people claim 10 percent.

James Baillieu: “evenif I wanted to buy, I’d be restrained in what I bought. But, if you want to askme my opinion, has it got further to go? I think it’s got much further to go,and I think we’re just getting started.  ( this was at $1.50)

Guy Maine: “Firstly, just to add to James comment, I look back at 2018 and I really see that in myview as the first year of our business, so irrespective of what the share pricehas done in the last 12 months, from my mind we’ve only just started andreiterate that comment that it’s all ahead of us.”  GM: “we saw a 35%growth in the December quarter off the subscription revenue, and that’s the onethat I think your listeners should be focused on. It’s the one that’s probablygoing to surprise on the upside through the year.”

Alan Kohler speaks toJames Bailieu:Just finally, James, if I can return to you. You’ve recentlyannounced pay rises for Guy and Anthony and what I thought seemed to me fairlycomplicated KPIs and so on, would you mind just explaining what you were tryingto achieve there in simple language?   JamesBaillieu: We see the base pay rises as relatively modest and not really evenworth discussing, they’re so modest. Both Guy and Anthony work very hard...CanI just interject there and say that I agree? That Guy’s now on 300,000 andAnthony’s on 250,000 which isn’t that much.JB: No, so I don’t think that’sworth talking about. The KPIs, they look complicated because we’ve disclosed infull detail the whole deal and we thought it important to... we like to have apolicy to keep our ASX investors, fully and accurately informed and not fudgethings, so we thought it was important to disclose all the details. The detailsare a bit overwhelming, but the actual KPIs are quite simple and there’s onlytwo of KPIs.

Guy Maine: “We havewhite-labelled our solution to Cushman & Wakefield, and they have 16initial top brands that will be obviously utilising through them, our platform, but they’re big Australian names in terms of the marketplace. Unfortunately, Ican’t tell you who they are but we’re talking the likes of names that everyoneuses every day in Australia.”

Some extracts from the company announcement on 13th February2019: ( you can read it in full on ASX or BID website)

"AnthonyDu Preez is still with BID ( resigned as executive Director)and is focusing on global expansion to present BID to largemultinational companies. Anthony is one of BIDs original founders and has avital role to play in Evangelising the BID story.”

Thebusiness of BID still remains the same.

Via an announcement, Guyand Anthony were given bonuses and KPI incentives by the past Chairman Mr Baillieujust weeks ago.
Guy and Anthony are still with BID.

Why and how James Baillieu resigned will never be known, whatgoes on in the Board room stays in the Board room. It seems as though something has occured/disagreement/something else? in the last 2 weeks and he has resigned, who knows?

Most of the people beating down on BID on Hotcopper now, wereactually strong believers a week or so ago and are now in my opinion lurking onthe side lines waiting to swoop up cheap shares.

James Baillieu resigning is a shame, however in his own wordsfrom the Alan Kosher interview:   “ thosetwo people ( Anthony Du Preez and Guy Maine ) take 90% of the credit for theperformance and I and other people claim 10 percent.”

I don’t know if James Baillieu is doing the selling now andif so, if he will continue too offload his shares.

I personally do not believe any of the other Directors are selling though.

What I believe is that the business has not changed, deals are on the go ( as per announcements) the price will fluctuate and when it settles there’s only one way and its up.

DYOR, read the whole AlanKosher article yourself. I will buy more on the dips as its way oversold.

I also believe that BID is going to be cash flow positive verysoon ( 8 weeks or so)  and will be backto its highs after that.

GLTA DYOR this is my opinion only.
