Hello again icred. I do not find this exciting at all. Just worrying. But I will try and reserve judgement until we find out exactly what it is we have to judge. The incredulity displayed in my "what the heck is going on" statement was referring to my surprise as to the timing of the announcement more than the content (although I certainly wasn't expecting this any time soon).

If the posters on this forum are an accurate representative cross-section of shareholders in general, it is already evident from posters' comments the negative influence this will have on SPP acceptance, hence my surprise at the timing. I believed TMR needed as much money from this as possible so I didn't understand why they would time such a trading halt to hurt their SPP. Not to mention perhaps pissing a whole lot of SH off who intended to sell TMR shares today (yesterday) in order to take up the placement. Shares are a liquid form of investing your money. There is nothing wrong with selling shares to retrieve money from investment purposes to buy shares at a price you believe to be good value, and hence a better investment, even if it happens to be the same share. It does sound strange, but logically IMO there is nothing wrong with this and something TMR would certainly have considered.

stormguy, I have also considered the fact the AGM is scheduled immediately after the announcement. One positive, at least the timing of the ann means TMR can not be accused of shirking the response of their announcement.
