I've posted this link before, but with the recent posts on lithium's usage in hybrids, for those that haven't seen it take a look.
The US Advanced Battery Consortium consists of GM, Ford, and Daimler Chrysler, and has been co-funding hybrid battery development with the US Dept of Energy.
