The current "home chasers" need to get off the "MeTo" bus..... All now want the 4/5 bedrooms, 2/3 bathroom, outdoor entertaining area, and not missing the games/theatre room. Until their ambitions come back to earth and settle for the 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home, they will continue to chase the tail. Gone are the days of one parent stopping home looking after the kids because they both now need to work to pay the mortgage along with child care costs. All to keep up with society. Years ago, you got married, you struggled for awhile, living in a flat or with parents, you saved a deposit and bought your hovel...... yes your hovel, but it was YOUR hovel. You only had kids if you could afford to, you never seen "child care centres", yet now couples are spending up to $200 per day on child care....... AND ASKING FOR HANDOUTS Governments are handing out dollars where its unwarranted, this of course, is all started from people being greedy and trying to keep up with the "Joneses" No doubt I will get hounded for this, but if the truth hurts, so be it.

Mate what a load of cods whallop.. The vast majority of first home buyers are not don't want or need mansions.. Hovels are not cheap anymore, and people saving for a house usually rent in hovels to begin with... Are you denying house prices vs real wages?? Your hovels are now more expensive then your 4/5 bedroom houses in real wages vs house prices. This is a fact, What year did you buy? where do you sit of the graph?? I bought a house in 2000 that has gone up 350% since then, wages have not matched that by a long shot..https://www.*.com.au/chart-australian-wages-house-prices-2018-3
