if you read the same presentation the forecast price by pit zone is $803 per carat in the south east zone where they have been mining the first 2 months. Therefore the price realised in the first auction was right on forecast and they achieved a higher grade so the economics so far are better than modelled.

The real test is when they start mining the south west zone which is modelled at $1798 per carat and as a significant volume of the overall mine output. Until they have had a decent run at this area nobody can really say whether Mothae is a bust or not. My money is on not...
