4DS - Anything but Charting, page-235

Personally, I don't think the megabit chip will be ready until Q4. Late October is my estimate. The videos above all disclose that 4DS has had dialogue with big companies (Intel, WD, Samsung) but JD has reiterated time and time again they won't lay down any money until they can see a finished product that can be mass produced in their own fabs.

The only thing that will make between now and Q42019 interesting, in my opinion, is that the HGST/WD JDA will expire in June.

What happens with WD/4DS partnership is something that could change who is interesting in acquiring 4DS.

WD dropped $25B AUD/$19B USD on Sandisk and from what I've heard it wasn't their best move. Dropping $1-$4B on 4DS before the megabit chip is done might be too risky for the company. But not renewing the partnership means they won't have that connection to rely on in Nov/Dec when the MB chip is ready.

It's all very exciting, but I do think now is the time for quiet share acquisition. I think we have settled from the previous move up and honestly I don't expect huge things from the share price until late 2019.

The next announcement "we have analysed the next batch and it's good, one more iteration and then off to the megabit chip" isn't really what we're all waiting for. We are waiting for "megabit test chip works well, in discussions with major players for the tech."
