Hi Dave,
Why don't you care what people do with their investments?
What they do with them impacts directly on the amount of revenue that the government has for good works.
If ,for instance, this total screw-up of a policy meant that there was less ability to raise the jobseekers allowance by a meaningful sum, I would care a lot.
If this screw-up of a policy makes it more difficult to get meaningful retirement stream taxation to make it sustainable, I care.
If this policy doesn't raise any meaningful NET revenue, apart from ideology, why bother?

Just a little reminder, in case you have forgotten, the franking credits system changes introduced by Howard, were Labor policy before, and during introduction.
I think Howard and Costello were lazy economic vandals, but trying to bullshit people that they were responsible for the FC policy, when manifestly , it was a bipartisan decision, intellectually dishonest.
