Lots of great information and oppionons posted in the forum post BAPE announcement.

I don't have such an intimate knowledge of the BAPE process and what it means for SYAs future like some but from what I do understand from emailing the relevant authorities in Quebec, is that the BAPE may only last around 6-7 months maximum. The decision to pass the project will be made by the cabinet members that make up the current gov with the recommendations laid out by the BAPE.

Regardless of how you feel about the project, or how much you know about all the facts... you have to take a moment to ask yourself one question. Why did SYA spend around a year trying to avoid the BAPE + millions of dollars on trying to improve public image, set up camp, employ more people to help communicate their message etc...when they could have just spent a little more on the environmental impact study and submitted it to BAPE which would well and truly be over by now.

The only answer I can come up with is that SYA managment to some degree, must think that the project could be rejected if it goes to BAPE. If anoyone can come up with another reason I'm all ears, but the BAPE to me says that Authier has a high chance of not going ahead.
