I may be wrong, but if you look at the topography of the salar, there is a reason why Pablo chose the south east corner. Check out the scaring on the ranges on the north western corner. To me it points to the south east corner being where the recharge heads towards, and quite probably increase the likelyhood of homogenousness..... (not sure thats a word, but felt good to write)
