Anyone thinking renewables are cheap for a 100% renewable grid is wrong. Storage is still a huge problem and LNG will dominate storage for power for a long time. That plus the need for cleaner air and a healthy planet, food, plastic, steel, glass, hospitals .... means NG is one of the best things going around since sliced bread
To put storage into perspective it would take 19,400 fully charged Jamestown Tesla batteries ($100M) to run Tokyo city for just 3 days. It’s easy to work out if you consider tokyo demand is 27GW
