I'm with you Orson. He may well be popular in rural Queensland , but that is quite different to rural everywhere else imo.
I spend plenty of time in rural Victoria. He is anywhere near as popular down here. He was, but events of the last couple of years and his reponse to them have trashed his brand. Previously Barnaby was the Nationals when he was leader. He has lost that status and he won't get it back.
Because of his recent transgressions, and people like Andrew Broad, it has caused the party to look at other members within for it's future and question what the party is really about.
Barnaby may win a leadership tussle but I reckon it will divide the party. Anyway, it's all academic now. If the Coalition lose the election they will probably fade into the ether for a couple of terms.
Who knows what will come out the other end ?
