At $2.60 I think the price is quite reasonable. I'm no fuel expert. Well, to be honest I wouldn't have a clue about fuel efficiency and how much you would save on a freeway style road when compared with sitting in traffic. At a guess you would have to assume that taking Eastlink has got to save you some few at least. I suppose people will have to weigh up the extra $25 a week extra - fuel efficiency (whatever that figure is), then they take into consideration the massive saving in time (once again, i am not a victorian, so i'm only going by research). I know things are tight nowadays, but an extra $20 a week seems a pretty decent investement. Depends how tight things are financially i suppose.

Being a QLDer, if you look at the Gateway. People seem to have no qualms paying the $2.20 to take that road daily. I've lived in Sydney and used the tolls there. The ones aroung the city are difficult to get a gauge on. Tunnels like the Eastern distributor are only 1 km or more long and it's always difficult parting with $4+ when you seem to only be in it for 1 or 2 minutes. Mind you, it probably saves 15.
