I also have noticed that it's a complete waste of time if you spot something wrong with an aircraft and tell the crew --
all the dopey passengers next to you think you are a prat and crew zip away for a minute, then return and tell you everything is normal - even if you are looking abnormal in the face.
The lesson for me is if you think there's a crash risk - get off and just tell them to piss off.
We had a fault coming out of Melbourne on a Bombardier (from memory) or a Dash 8 or similar.
Nothing to do with what I spotted - I spotted an engine cover missing a fastener -------- clear as day,
the other hatches all had fasteners and the opposite engine had all of it's fasteners in place.
I was told all was perfectly normal ---------- yeah, right - utter BS -- the next time I flew on that plane - all fasteners were magically in place.
again, if you think there's a problem and it might send you into the ground like a dart -------- just get off the bloody thing IMO
