Nope. While longer term cycles and trends are excellent for figuring overall market direction, I trade shorter term in the direction of the bigger picture. This keeps risk smaller and suits my trading style.

Correctly identifying big picture moves is the key to this game imo. One must look at as much big picture stuff as possible to get an overall feel. Anything that has a shown to have an influence should be looked at. If someone shows me a well established cycle based on something out of the ordinary, it's still worth a look.
