Be the parent the kid would choose to have if they had the choice....some kids grow into rotten people regardless.so many rotten people exist..all had parents...in social science largely this is on railroad tracks parents change the innate nature of their offspring very little but if you do get a good one and you treat them so you would be the parent they would choose if they had that choice...you win.
