Voltaire,
I have not been much into charting, and I imagine Gann is one of the disciplines. What bothers me about charting is the reduction in the number of degrees freedom they allow by so many "ifs and buts". For those who are not statistically bent, a simple illustration of degrees of freedom could be obtained from a highschool calculator. Go on stat mode, put in a handful of data, compare the population standard deviation with the sample sd, to show that the latter is bigger with just one less degree of freedom. When an analysis allows for so many contingencies, the number of degrees of freedom is diminished, the variation (standard deviation) goes skyhigh making it useless. My apologies to the other chartists in this bhp thread, just presenting an opinion.
