As I said, I am genuinely interested in your core beliefs as to who and what God and Jesus are as this is what I would say the Bible shows, is the first milk and from what I see in the Bible, this is required to know.
And as I often say to many people, I am all ears but it must be backed by the Bible.
Now you say, One thing at a time, now if I was to say, lets cover the Word subject as in John's opener, we are in fact speaking of a huge area and there are numerous branches to this, of which most do not include, hence the confusion, deception in this area.
The opening first 18 verses of John, prelude, starts outside of creation to Jesus being exalted, into the bosom of the God and Father as in;
1 Tim 6:16 - Who (Jesus) only hath immortality, dwelling in the light (Almighty God and Father) which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
God is Light 1 John 1:5.
God is the Father of lights James 1:17.
His word, plan = Glory is the Light also Psa 119:105.
He is the True light John 1:9

The first 4 verse at least in John are covering, what was = Word and who it was, is = Almighty God and Father.
Most disagree and say the Word is Jesus.
If this be the case and as the key message in these verses is clearly Word and Who, then whomever the Word is, They are clearly the one that spoke the Gens creation account into being as that is clearly defined, determined by;
John 1:3 - All things were made through him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
This 1:3 is clearly in reference to what come before it, Word and God and it most definitely covers, enters the Gen creation account.
Psa 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth (Spirit).
Heb 11:3 - Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The above are what's known as --> The Word of Life 1 John 1:1.
The key point, answers required out of the above --> If one insist on Jesus being the Word in John 1:1, one has to accept and provide Bible backing that Jesus was the Speaker in the Gen's creation account and this Psa and Heb verse and John's 1:3 dictates this.
One also needs to grasp, John at first is and was to prepare the way, make the path straight for the Almighty God and Father, spell out the core truths, way it was and what was already existing prior to Jesus coming on the scene Mal 3:1 for example.
To ignore this fact, is to get lost, confused in John's opener.
