I agree, a mid-size Alumina Refinery will only consume 3.5Mt bauxite per year which puts the huge scale of this resource into perspective. Also Alumina Plants cost several billion dollars at least. There is no shortage of Global Alumina Refining capacity but there is a shortage of bauxite forecasted.
