Well I don't think his name was suppressed when he was caught and convicted the first time round.
So if the Government thinks it is a secret now, they must assume that people have terrible memories, or cannot be bothered going down to the public library and looking up "The Age" on microfilm.
This guys NAME is not a secret. It is in the public domain.
The fact that the Government is releasing him now is obviously something the government does not want, nor is compelled, to directly publicise widely. They have a reasonable reason for not publicising it.
But to suggest that it is truly a secret if Derryn goes to the trouble to find it out, is crazy.
