If you are referring to me, I am completely rational.. TA is self fulfilling trend following given power by wholesale acceptance by traders.. it's akin to linear regression fused with psychological expectation.. it works becaus it is acceped as reliable.. even if it's neither for the broader group of practitioners... the science behind it is psychology, not mathematics. Same can be achieved using any trend based approach until the trend is broken. I find gap filling the most interesting.. ta people see them and set up to fulfill the mysterious force that sees them filled by selling down and setting buys in the vicinity. Enough traders do that and the prophecy will be fulfilled.. chartreuse... but how many of them actually benefit given the phenomenon is usually on thin volume
