What was interesting was the discussion on the Adani mine with the LNP saying it would generate thousands of jobs and the ALP saying Adani's business plan calls for a fully automated process from mine-site to port which would not generate many jobs at all.
The truth probably lies somewhere in between but IMO the Adani project would not be the big employer of local labour that the pro Adani mob try to paint it as being. Also outside of two or three central Queensland electorates there is little public support for Adani and even in those electorates support will fall if the mine ever gets up and running and the jobs are not there.
Waters could be correct in that alternative energy projects might generate more jobs than a fully automated coal mine.

More jobs in alternative energy?
Is that because they would never want to automate the industry?
Seems like a rediculous claim to say alternative energy would create more jobs ... i bet the ABC crowd didn't break out in laughter at that stupid claim.
