Your example of getting shot is an example of a plant causing suffering to another plant. I was under the impression you have been referring to suffering coming from sources which are seemingly out of human control.
Wellbeing is not relative from a human only perspective. It only becomes relative when there is influence from "above".
This is why I refer to human influence on plants. It's a "cross-kingdom" relativity I am talking about. We don't know the wisdom behind natural death. We do know the harm of someone ending someone's life prematurely.
