IS THE (apparent) HIGH STACKING of offers on CNP:

    OPTION 1 - deliberate price "capping" ?

    OR

OPTION 2 - independant day traders just doing their usual thing with a stock in this position ?

Occam's Razor (see below) appears to support OPTION 2.

the other price manipulation option disucced here (OPTION 3?) is short range intra-day price manipulation and share trading robots are often said to play a role.

BUT - if it is true that non-day traders are now largely out of CNP (nb: this seems to be the generally accepted assumption) then how does that work????

    - day traders have to pay normal buy/sell commissions so iceberging ie small multiple buy/sell orders would not seem to be an option

    - day traders don't have bots

    - exactly how big a shareholding would it take to push the share price of CNP around - would a day trader have that size share holding?

    - even if they had the shares, would a day trader be prepared to take the risks?

    - this has been a fickle stock that can spin its wheels or tumble very easily trapping holders under water for long periods......do day traders take such risks normally?

in light of this, the onus of proof seems to rest with the "price manipulation theory" advocates to produce more than assumption and assertion based largely on market depth observations.

    regards
