There are now report of Trump throwing Turkish President Erdogan a possible lifeline following Turkey's decision to purchase s400 anti-aircraft missiles from Russia.

    As reported:

" Two months before the first batch of S-400s could arrive in Turkey, a team of senior Turkish ministers visited Washington this week for talks aimed at easing the crisis, culminating in an unexpected Oval Office meeting with the president. "We are getting signals that Trump pursues a more positive attitude than Congress," a senior Turkish official told Reuters. "There might certainly be some steps to be taken but the search for common ground will continue."

The S400 deal will likely backfire on Erdogan, Putin and Trump but in different ways. The deal also increases global economic risk because Turkey is already sitting at an economic precipice and owes lots of money to EU banks. Trump is once again supporting Russia and ME autocrats over traditional allies.

[I could foresee the S400s being fired against the military aircraft of Greece, Syria, or Iran. The paradox is that Russia is fighting an unholy proxy war against Turkey in Syria's Idlib province ……… however Putin has prioritised a new Turkish- Russian nexus over developments in Syria .]
