it’s depends where on the site you are mining .
AVZ Manono is in tick slabs if you like, so the ‘overburden’ is basically just dozed off to the side ; there will be a percentage of that material that will hit the conveyor; but this small percentage will reduce very quickly as one drops below ground level and into the ore.
the links of the Pilgangoora tenements need to pass through overburned , hit quite thin veins, before needing to pass through ... what you could consider another thick overburden before hitting another vein. So the likes of PLS,AJM, MIN will always have much mugger percentage of sheet passing through with the ore.
apart from processing : extraction costs per tonne will be a lot higher in those sites than it would be at manono .
MINs costs would be horrendous in comparison to even PLS or AJMs I’d imagine
