A run on redemptions due to the collapse of other companies was the reason for the freeze. If you were happy with the distributions and didn't need the capital back, then nothing changed. Developers still want to embark on projects, they are looking for lending, and CIY will lend based on the new market conditions. The swift roll-over of the lent money should protect against loss. Which is why there's been no loss in 10 years.
CIY need to restore confidence by linking up with more institutional investment in the FMF, IMHO.
