So here's my dilemma. I'm currently selling down a fairly big chunk of my share portfolio (about 50 percent) to put into a deposit on my first home which is pretty exciting but the issue is which shares to dispose (I very rarely sell shares and have traditionally just held them over time and built up the portfolio).

I'm loath to sell URB at such a bargain basement price and discount to NTA and because I still think it will pan out ok over time but if I keep them in the portfolio I'll need to remove some other options which provide better income and growth both now and quite likely into the future (e.g one of SOL, BKW, Collins Foods, Wesfarmers, Carsales or NAB).

Do I sell the company that's not performing that great (URB) and just accept that I've sold at the bottom of the market or sell one of the better companies that are trading at more fairly valued prices?

Would be interested to hear some thoughts (and totally understand there merely thoughts rather than investment advice).
