The very fact that its called the GREEN monster is a deception. I heard Ferguson use the term "ultra-clean diesel" the other day and thought: ultra-clean isn't a word in the dictionary its like some sort of trademark LNC uses whenever they talk about their product. This almost sounds like a product placement. Ultra-clean needs a big asterisk next to it: "*clean is not be used in the sense of greenhouse emissions as is commonly assumed". "Ultra-clean" is misleading. The slides in the presentation are misleading. The built in assumption that CCS is a reality is misleading. The confusion that exists between UCG and CTL (such as previous post) is never corrected - its misleading.

Its a complicated subject and they think they can get away with bamboozling the public with *ultra-simplifications (TM).

Ultra, very, really. Same concept isn’t it? Better than extracting and burning coal above ground?

Yeah, have a go at Martin. He’s a disciple. And Linc, yeah, they make it up, suuuure. Bit like the Mossad eh, by way of deception thou shalt operate?

I recognise that sometimes there have to be simplifications. After al the average person on the street thinks Alan Jones and John laws are oracles of wisdom and that Big Brother is great TV. But to suggest they are trying to manipulate and hoodwink the public is something else. In this era of energy demand the reality is they could do what they want and the govt would probably allow it anyway because we need to supply our own energy going forward.

But, to your suggestions TM

Let’s consider what some others have referred to it as.

US Department Of Energy…..they call it……..Clean diesel technologies (coal to liquids). Ohh.

And Volkswagen claims…….Reduced emissions–especially particulates. Well I uh, em, err

And Shell stated……….“Produces clean GTL products” and “Ultra Clean”, water-clear Product (talking about GTL diesel) And “Extra clean liquid fuels to reduce emissions”. hmmmm

What’s BP said?......“Clean Fuels” and “Clean Diesel”…….oh er, ahem, um.

So if ultra and clean are product placements, I take my hat off to the Linc Marketing team who’ve got some of these other companies to talk their propaganda up on their behalf. Shucks- the fools. If only they knew. Perhaps you can contact them to tell they THEY are all wrong. I’m sure the US DofE would take your call.
