" There are 60 leases on this year's list of abandoned claims and some of them have exceptionally good records. In the aggregate 77,635 tons from, the leases in question yielded 71, 430 oz., one of which, the New Murchison King, at Abbotts, about midway between Nannine and Peak Hill, is credited with 24,463 oz. from 21,356 tons. Another adjacent mine, the Mount Vranizan, returned 12,250 oz. from 13,416 tons, showing the consistency of the stone in both properties. An enormous amount of development work has been done on these leases, but owing to the exhaustion of their capital the proprietors were unable to continue operations".

........ There was an on-going miners strike in the early 1900's which would have affected production and maybe led to "exhaustion of capital".
