Hi, there would have been a considerable number of short postions which the ANZ/Deloittes will have instructed their brokers to cover.
Given the manner in which the long stocks were dealt with, who knows what the financial outcome is! On this point, i look forward to the investigation into how a number of stocks were sold off at incredible discounts to their price a week earlier and not surprisingly a large discount to the price a week later. No doubt a few quetions will need to be answered in time.
